Going Green started out in 2005 as a real-life experiment in sustainable living. We loved the idea of "going green" in this hectic, stressed world. We wondered whether such a lifestyle was possible in our modern day and age - in an age where values and ideals had apparently taken a backseat to money. We wondered whether it was possible to survive - forget survive - to live well and enjoy life while "doing the right thing". Our question was: Is it possible to live in the "real world" of today while still pursuing your ideals?

2005 saw us establishing Going Green Eco-Solutions, starting to collect green information, launching our first make-shift website and starting market-research about the level of green interest in South Africa. We were "Going Green" before green was even going - and suddenly it was going as a consequence of the  sky-rocketing oil price, the movie "An Inconvenient Truth" and a variety of other world events. We were certainly not expecting a "green revolution" and suddenly found ourselves on the breaking front of a surging wave of green interest. Far from having the time to investigate and "do" the things we were initially intending to, we rapidly found ourselves fielding an overwhelming number of green queries with the limited knowledge (and even more limited experience!) at our disposal - and this while simultaneously working together with others in developing plans for the Going Green Eco-Centre! Our "experiment in sustainable living" was starting to yield measurable results - but certainly not results as we were expecting them! :) We were starting to learn, first-hand, and through experience, the eye-opening answers to the questions we had posed at the outset...

We have taken years to accept and digest the answers to these questions and the peace that surpasses all understanding, which we now gratefully embrace, has come at a very high price. Having said this, perhaps you will appreciate why, unlike most everything else on our website, we do not freely share it here but are happy to share it with you on a personal basis, however we would highly recommend that you embark on a similar truth-seeking journey as well. If you humble yourself and are honest enough to embrace the truth which unfolds, then you will also find the way to the pearl - suffice it to say it has changed the way we live and how look at the world. We're continuing on the journey, changed from the inside out and, thanks to God, will never be the same again!
