We have been supplying the retail trade in South Africa since 1985, with quality unadulterated and organic foods. In fact we do believe we were South Africa's first wholesaler to do so, that still remains in business.
Whilst changes are happening with respect to government involvement in the certification process, and whilst we remain uncertified, we maintain our adherence to the strictest principles of absolute integrity. When we label a product as organic, it is either certified by the supplier, or we are very familiar with the source and can vouch for it's authenticity.
When we feel it is appropriate to do so, we will have our premises certified. This relies on the establishment of a local certification body, that is accessible to all of the industry's role-players from a cost perspective. A regional PGS (Participatory Guarantee System) network is in the process of bieng established, of which we are founder members. It is an IFOAM initiative.
"Don't ask, "What does it cost?" ask, "Does it cost the Earth?"
